Free Burn
August 2, 2024
Free Burn is an Alternative RnB-esque project with pop and Latin rhythmic influences. CEC relies on shakers and bongos to carry the groove while drawing on mixing engineer Leslie Brathwaite’s style of having a knocking kick, snare, and bass. CEC’s voice gets its appeal from its smooth tone and low range, often being compared to Toni Braxton, Charlotte Day Wilson, and Meshell Ndegeocello.
Free Burn is the perfect EP for listeners looking for a mid-energy beat or sapphic love story. Free Burn takes its name from the stage of a fire that has passed the initial and growth stages and is consuming all available fuel, unrestrained by any suppression system. After years of honing their production chops and working towards creating music that was an accurate reflection of their breadth of influences and skills, Free Burn is the result: CEC’s stage of free burning.
